National level Nanjing Xingang High and New Technology Industrial Park was approved to be set up by State Council in January 1997. The planning area is 3.5KM2.

In the Zone, there are more than 120 High and New technology companies, whose product value accounting for over 80% of the total industrial value. There are over 30 foreign-funded R&D institutions such as LG Electronic Display R&D Center, A.O.Smith Global Engineering R&D Center. In addition, there are also over 20 Engineering and Technology R&D Centers and Enterprise Technology Centers ranging from national, provincial to municipal level, engaging nearly 10,000 R&D staff.
